Right of Way / CPCN
The EarthGrid Advantage
EarthGrid is in a convenient position to sidestep much of the ROW risk. By registering EarthGrid as a utility in any given state, and obtaining what is called a Certificate of Public Convenience & Necessity (“CPCN”), the company gains preferred (near-guaranteed) ROW along state & county roads for underground conduits, utility lines, etc. State departments of transportation (DOT, Caltrans, etc.) must grant ROW access to companies with a CPCN for utility lines, as long as such applications for ROW do not unreasonably interfere with the operation of the affected or adjacent transportation corridor.
Right of Way
Right of Way (ROW) along state & county roads for underground conduits, utility lines, etc. (registering as a utility and obtaining a Certificate of Public Convenience & Necessity (“CPCN”).
As our CPCN allows for us to use the state’s highway easements, we do not need to acquire hundreds or thousands of landowner’s rights. Only the ones where we are looking for an ingress/egress.
Section Title
The current grid is outdated and overloaded. We aim to change that, facilitating the needs for more utility connections. We aim to get rid of unsightly and often hazardous overhead utility lines, making communities safer, providing many new job opportunities, low-cost broadband and power, and making our more critical utility infrastructure more resilient & reliable.
